Make-Up Assignments

ALL STUDENTS READ!!

If your child missed CCD this week (January 15), please have him/her read Chapter 20 and complete all of the activities at the end of the Chapter 20 on pg 223 (Questions 1-10).

ALL STUDENTS – in order to receive credit for class on January 8 (which was not held) please read Chapter 16 and complete all of the activities at the end of the Chapter on pg 179 (Questions 1-10).

These assignments are due on Sunday, January 22 in order to receive attendance credit, and to be prepared to cover the material this week.

Reminder

Class Cancellation January 8, 2012

Parents –

Please remember that I am not able to attend class tomorrow, and therefore you should not send you students that are in my class. I will provide a make-up lesson very soon via email and the website that students should bring with them when we resume classes next weekend.

Updates!

Christmas, Community Service, January 8 class

Hi Parents:

This Week:  As you know, this week is the last week before the Christmas break; therefore, we will be including a celebration in the lesson. I will provide donuts and candy canes. Students may bring in whatever treats they want to share with the class. We have about 20 students in the class. Please note that this is not just going to be a “party” week and as such, attendance is still important. We will be completing a lesson along with enjoying our treats and some Christmas activities.

Community Service: Some of the kids have asked about community service. The requirements are as follows: each child must complete AT LEAST 20 HOURS of community service before next fall. Of these 20 hours, at least 10 must be for the Church (fish fry, santa’s breakfast, vacation Bible school, etc.) The other 10 hours may or may not be Church-related. Mrs. Browning has an opportunity for a limited number of students to complete community service hours by sorting Church pamphlets. This is a nice easy activity because you can pick up the pamphlets and take them home to sort them. She will give these assignments out on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you are interested, call the religious ed office, email her at svreled@comcast.net, or stop by her office after class this week. Also, some of the kids are really excited about the fish fry. I sent home information about volunteering last week, and I am sure if a bunch of the kids do it together, this could be a really fun way to earn credit for their hours.

January 8 Class – On January 8, I unfortunately have to miss one more class. This is the only other absence I have planned for the rest of the year, so unless I get sick or something unexpected arises, all other classes will take place as planned. For the January 8 class, I will email home an assignment that students must complete and turn in during the next class for attendance credit.

This is a reminder that your child must bring his/her completed worksheet for Chapter 7 to class tomorrow in order to get credit for “attending” last week’s class. If your child is present tomorrow and does not have the worksheet completed, there will be no further opportunity to make up the work, as we will be going over it in class tomorrow. If you were unable to open the attachments, it is on the CCD webpage ccd.mhollis.com. Please email me if you have any questions.
