Dear Parents:

In place of class attendance for last week please have the students complete the following assignment:

Choose a Saint in the Catholic Church (it can be any saint – it does not have to be the saint you choose for Confirmation)

Bring the following information regarding the Saint (can be researched on the Internet)

- Name
- Where did Saint live?
- When did Saint live and die?
- How did Saint die?
- What did the Saint do during his or her life? (have at least several important details – not just one)
- Why was this person made a Saint?

We will be using this information for an activity in class this Sunday so please remember to bring it. This information should be readily available to students online and they should not have to spend a lot of time completing this assignment. No need to write a formal paper – just some notes will be fine!

Thanks,
Kelly
Dear Parents-

Please note that MY CCD class for tomorrow, March 4, is cancelled because I am not feeling well. I will email a make-up assignment for the kids to do for next week, March 11, so students can earn credit for attendance on the 4th despite my absence.

Please call or email me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Kelly
Update

Hi Parents:

A few notes-

If your child missed CCD last week and you would like him or her to make up the work, please complete Chapter 6 in the book, including reading the chapter and completing the end of the chapter activities.

Also, the classroom (and the entire school for that matter) was extremely hot last week. Even with opening windows it was a bit uncomfortable. The temperature in the building is very unpredictable, so it’s best for students to dress in layers. Students should have something warm, like a sweatshirt, and something appropriate under it in case they need to take their sweatshirt off, like a t-shirt.

Finally, please note that in case of inclement weather, CCD cancelations will be announced via the news outlets, like KDKA or WTAE. Unfortunately, I do not have time to call or take phone calls in the morning regarding whether or not we have CCD. I will try to send an email or update the website, but you need to rely on the news outlets for weather updates.

Thanks!
Kelly
